Swedish designer John-Michael Ekeblad presents unique furniture inspired by New York at Dalslands Konstmuseum in Sweden. The exhibition is a result of a workshop held with local designers and students at design and craft school Steneby.
Ekeblad have long been interested in recycling and repurposing materials. “Whether in his native Sweden or adopted home of NYC, Ekeblad finds nostalgia in such rubble, yearning to connect the past and present while preserving the materials’ original personality – most often in furniture form”, writes Cool Hunting.
The material used for the furniture in the New York på Dalsländska collection is salvaged from a traditional cottage house built in 1850.
