“Contemporary footwear spends barely a fraction of its life hugging a foot. For the majority of its life it is rubbish.”
Charles Duffy, William Gubbins and Billy Turvey set out to communicate the correlation between consumerism and waste, in specific plastic waste, in a call to less consumption. The result is a project they call Everything You Buy Is Rubbish and shows a pair of shoes that the trio made entirely from plastic waste collected on UK shores. The shoes cannot be bought.
